Our Traffic Attorneys Help You Fight Violations

If you’ve been cited for a traffic violation in Maryland, you could be facing more than just a small fine.  Even a lesser conviction for a simple traffic violation can trigger increased insurance rates, assessment of points against your driver’s license, and the potential suspension of your driver’s by the MVA.

Often times the consequences of serious violations can extend well beyond the revocation of your driving privileges. If criminal charges are brought against you could be facing the loss of your job, security clearance, ability to secure a loan, rent an apartment or possibly have to serve jail time.

Our traffic attorneys proudly service the following areas:

Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County, Howard County, Frederick County, Charles County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County as well as cases throughout the state of Maryland.

  • Serious ``Must Appear`` Violations
  • How We Can Help

Traffic violations in Maryland are generally divided into two main categories: serious traffic violations and less serious violations. The most important difference between them is that you “Must Appear” in court for any alleged serious traffic violation or citation because of the potential for jail or prison time.

Failure to appear in court for a serious traffic citation usually results in a bench warrant being issued for the defendant’s arrest as well as an automatic suspension of their driver’s license or privilege to drive.

Less serious traffic violations allow you the option to paying the fine by mail so you don’t need to be present at the courthouse for a hearing before a judge. It’s important to note that if you choose to prepay the fine you’re admitting to being at fault and will receive whatever points are assigned to your violation without an opportunity for a reduction or mitigation of the charge.
